Homeschool Day: Mysteries of Mycology

Explore the similarities and differences between plants and fungi, investigate specimens from the Sam Mitchel Herbarium of Fungi and explore the active life of yeast. Homeschool Days offer families the opportunity to explore plant-based themes through a variety of hands-on activities, tours and take-home projects that families can do together.

Tinker Time Art Class

Drop in to explore a variety of art stations with different materials. Ages 18 months to 12 years. Reservations suggested.

Yoga for Kids

School-Day-Off Theater Classes

Gingerbread House Workshops

Combine graham crackers, candy and icing to create a special holiday treat. The workshop lasts one hour and is designed for children and adults to create together. Reservations are required.

Kids’ Camp Paint

Learn to paint a different work of art each day with step-by-step instructions. Age 4 and up. Reservations required.

Saturday Art Experience

Participate in exhibition-based art activities led by certified art instructors. Participants visit the current exhibition and then create a project from that experience. Reservations preferred.

Around the World

Learn about cultures and celebrations from around the globe through different foods and craft projects. Featuring a different country each month.

CU Wizards

Be informed about the wonders of science, and watch demonstration experiments by renowned University of Colorado professors. This month’s topic is “Speed” with Prof. Eric Cornell. Grades 5-9 recommended.

Cookies and Canvas – Holiday Lights for Pee Wee

Preschoolers will create a colorful painting featuring twinkle holiday lights. Parent and/or caregiver must accompany the preschooler to the program. Create colorful and whimsical holiday themed paintings and enjoy cookies and punch. Age 3-5. $25 All supplies and goodies included.

Family Art Making

Participate in new art experiences each week with your family, facilitated by an art therapist. Family members will work together to create one piece of art during the session.

Yoga for Kids

Join in a fun, encouraging beginner level yoga class for kids of all ages (toddlers too)! In this 30 minute session, kids will learn basic poses to create healthy energy, offer physical challenge and inspire your imagination. Parents are welcome to join too. Included with Museum admission.

Cookies and Canvas – Gingerbread House

Participants will design and paint their very own delicious ginger bread houses using acrylic on canvas and glitter paint. Create colorful and whimsical holiday themed paintings and enjoy cookies and punch while painting. $25 per program All supplies and goodies included Ages 6-12.

Try out a class for families interested in finding out more about the Music Together Program with Mountain Song Music Studio, a research based music and movement program.

World Honey Bee Day

FamilySong Music Class

Wed. 11:30 Through Nov. Enjoy a multicultural music and movement class, with upbeat songs in English and different languages, instruments, scarves and drumming. Each session comes with a CD and download card. Ages 6 weeks to 6 years. Drop-in not available, but you can register at anytime throughout the session.

Join in an early childhood music and movement program. Ages 2-6 with caregiver.

Music Together Demo Classes

Try out a research-based children’s music class featuring singing, movement and instrument play. Ages birth-5 with caregiver. Siblings welcome. Reservations required online.

Piff the Magic Dragon

Join Piff for an all-ages magic show. Thurs/Sun, $22; Fri/Sat: $30.
