Instead of driving around trying to find the house with the best lights in the neighborhood, head out to these events to see larger-than-life light displays.

9NEWS Parade of Lights

December 6-7

Witness this annual holiday event complete with more than 40 units including illuminated floats, giant helium-filled character balloons, marching bands, cultural entries, and a visit from Santa. Civic Center Park, Denver.

A Hudson Christmas

December 1-31

Follow the paths along woodsy terrain to see a winter wonderland where brightly lit trees reflect off bodies of water. Share your wish list with Santa Claus through December 23, take photos on Santa’s sleigh, and warm up in yuletide yurts. The Hudson Gardens & Event Center, Littleton.

Blossoms of Light

November 29-January 3, 2020

See the gardens transformed with holiday lights, including a new 360-degree immersive light experience. Dinner, holiday treats, warm drinks, a souvenir reusable mug, and HoloSpex glasses are available for purchase. Denver Botanic Gardens York Street, Denver.

Christmas in Color

November 15-January 4, 2020

Load up the car and drive through acres of more than 1.5 million lights, synchronized to holiday music coming through your radio. See giant candy canes, arched pathways, and snowmen. Two locations: Water World in Federal Heights and Bandimere Speedway in Morrison.

Electric Safari

December 6-January 1, 2020

See more than 85 one-of-a-kind light sculptures, take a picture with Santa, and visit the animals in the zoo. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Colorado Springs. 

Lakewood Lights

December 6-7

Take a stroll among the light displays, go on a wagon ride, listen to festive live music, and warm up with roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate. Spin the dreidel to get coin-shaped chocolate gelt. Snap a photo with Santa Claus or craft an ornament. Lakewood Heritage Center, Lakewood.

Longmont Lights

December 13-14

See millions of sparkling lights during this annual event that features a parade, Santa’s workshop, ice skating, train rides, and entertainment. Roosevelt Park, Longmont.

Santa’s Village

November 29-December 22

Stroll through colorful light displays, go inside a life-size snow globe, meet Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the reindeer, play in an elf house, hop on a hay ride, and watch a short movie in Santa’s Cinema. Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms, Littleton.

Winter Wonderlights

November 15-January 1, 2020

Enjoy a wide display including moving lights, illuminated African stone sculptures, and 30-minute music and lights shows every night. There will be a larger weekend celebration Dec. 13-14, which will feature live entertainment, activities, Colorado’s largest inflatable igloo, and giveaways. Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra, Loveland.

Zoo Lights

November 29-December 30

Enjoy all-new experiences this year including an animated musical holiday tree, motion-activated mistletoe, plus animal encounters. Denver Zoo, Denver.
