There’s nothing quite like a summer night spent watching a movie under the stars. Here in Denver, there’s a plethora of outdoor viewing options for families. We’ve rounded up 16 places to catch an outdoor movie with your family. So grab the popcorn, blankets, and lawn chairs and check out one of these free or low-cost movies this summer.

Movies on The Green

Founders Green at Stapleton | 29th Ave. and Roslyn St., Denver

Enjoy a free summer movie series under the stars at Founders Green on select Friday nights. Concession stand and food trucks available on site. Movies begin at dusk. Free admission.

Outdoor Film Series

Historic Elitch Theatre | 4655 W. 37th Ave., Denver

Relax on the theater lawn and enjoy live music followed by a movie on a giant inflatable screen. Entertainment starts at 6 p.m., movies start at dusk. $5 student ages seven to 21, $7 adult, free age six and under.

Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park | 2000 Elitch Circle, Denver

Spend Friday nights at the water park this summer and enjoy screenings of family-friendly films. Park entrance closes at 6 p.m., movies begin around 7:30 p.m. Included with park admission or season pass.

Little Man Ice Cream | 2620 16th St., Denver

Little Man shows family-friendly flicks each Friday in their outdoor plaza. Bring a blanket, grab some ice cream, and enjoy free popcorn during the show. Movies begin at 8:45 p.m. Free admission.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre | 18300 W. Alameda Pkwy., Morrison

Denver Film Society presents its 19th season of Film on the Rocks this summer at Red Rocks. Enjoy a live concert and local comedian, followed by a movie under the stars, on select summer nights. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., bands begin playing at 7 p.m., and movies start at dusk. $15 general admission.

Starlight Movie Series

Festival Park | 300 Second St., Castle Rock

Enjoy a street fair with family-friendly activities and music followed by a movie at dusk. Food trucks will be onsite, as well as a beer booth for adults. Street fair and entertainment begins at 6 p.m., movies start at dusk. Free admission.

Erie Community Park | 450 Powers St., Erie

Enjoy free family entertainment at Erie Community Park on select Saturday nights this summer. There will be a themed craft or activity before each movie. Movies begin at dusk, around 8:30 p.m. Sweet treats are available for purchase from Kona Ice and Vanilla Bean Pastry Truck. Free admission.

Sports Authority Field at Mile High | Denver

This summer, the Denver Broncos are hosting a special one-night movie event for families at the stadium, on July 13. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., movie begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person.

Enjoy a family-friendly film on the lawn near Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at Aspen Grove. Festivities including a bounce house and obstacle course begin at 7 p.m., and the movie starts at dusk. Free admission.

Denver Mart Drive In

451 E. 58th Ave., Denver

Take your family to enjoy an outdoor movie, the old-fashioned way, at the drive in. The season runs from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, with a double feature showing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Gates open at 7 p.m., movies start at sundown. $10 per person, kids age six and under are free.
