You won’t want to miss the live stage production of the story of a lost aviator and the magical little boy “Little Prince” she encounters in the desert. The hourlong play—based on the classic book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery—tells the story of their friendship after they meet at sunset on the aviator’s first day in the desert.

Throughout the play, The Little Prince and the Aviator tell the story of the little prince’s journey to the desert while the Aviator draws along, with her drawings projected on two screens on either side of the stage.

The strange little man tells her about his adventures through the galaxy, how he met the Lamplighter and the Businessman and the Geographer, and his relationship with a special flower on his home planet. In the end, both find their way home, after learning many lessons from each other about the important things in life.

The play is performed by adult actors, with Missy Moore as the role of the aviator. Moore is a veteran actress in Denver’s theatre world, most recently starring in Lend Me a Tenor at Miners Alley Playhouse, Marie Antoinette at The Edge Theater, and Charlotte’s Web at the Arvada Center. Rachel Graham plays The Little Prince in a manner that brings the imagination and magic of childhood to life.

The Little Prince teaches audiences that friendship can happen between even the most unlikely pair. It emphasizes that helping others can teach you about yourself. And the play shows the ability for kids to teach adults lessons through their creativity and imagination, reminding adults not to take themselves too seriously.

Encore! after the play provides a short interview period. Kids can ask the actors questions about the show, acting, or other aspects of the production, and go on a tour of the backstage.
