Woody and the gang are back on the big screen for another adventure in Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story 4, and this time there’s a new friend stirring up trouble—craft-project-turned-toy Forky.

The story picks up where the third film left off; the toys are happily enjoying their new home with Bonnie. It’s Bonnie’s first day of kindergarten orientation, and she’s nervous. Woody (the cowboy doll voiced by Tom Hanks) sees her uneasiness and wants to help—he always prioritizes his kid’s happiness—so he decides to hide in her backpack and go to school with her. At school, Bonnie sits alone at a table and begins to cry after a classmate snatches the craft supplies off her table. Woody comes to the rescue, discreetly digging the supplies out of the trash. Noticing the new supplies on her table, Bonnie decorates a spork with googly eyes, pipe cleaner arms, and popsicle stick feet. She instantly feels at ease with her newly-created friend Forky, but things get a little complicated when she takes Forky home.

You see, Forky (voiced by Tony Hale) is alive, just like Woody and the other toys. But he refuses to believe he’s anything more than trash. Seeing how happy Forky makes Bonnie, Woody is determined to teach Forky to embrace the toy life, but Forky doesn’t make it easy. When Bonnie takes the whole gang on a road trip with her parents, Woody is in for a bumpy ride after Forky jumps from the RV.

With Bonnie’s happiness on the line, Woody takes it upon himself to find Forky and ends up on an unexpected journey alongside his long-lost friend Bo Beep (voiced by Annie Potts). After years on her own, Bo has learned to thrive in the lost toy life, and although they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, she’s eager to help her old friend. Together they encounter new friends and overcome challenges; holding true to the franchise’s heartwarming plot line, leaving viewers of all ages laughing and crying until the very end.
