Sensory-Friendly Holiday Shows

Inclusive holiday performances for Denver-area kids.

Every kid deserves a chance to experience live shows and enjoy the holiday season. Check out these local shows that are designed for audiences with special needs.

The Gentle Nutcracker

December 7, 1-2 p.m.

Attend an abridged, sensory-friendly version of The Nutcracker, performed by The Longmont Symphony Orchestra and the Boulder Ballet for individuals with special needs and their families. There will be an Instrument Demonstration in the lobby at 12:15pm. $10. Vance Brand Civic Auditorium, 600 E. Mountain View Ave., Longmont.

Sensory-Friendly Nutcracker

December 20, 6:30 p.m.

Attend a production by the Colorado Conservatory of Dance designed specifically for families with a child who has a hard time sitting through a conventional ballet performance. $10, free for kids with special needs. Performing Arts Complex at Pinnacle Charter School, 1001 W. 84th Ave., Denver.

Sensory-Friendly Home for the Holidays

December 22, 7 p.m.

Attend a variety show with singers, drummers, holiday songs, and an appearance by Santa. This performance is for families and individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, sensory processing disorder, or other conditions. Age 6 and up. $15-$25. Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons St., Lone Tree.
