Learn about and celebrate Nowruz, the Persian New Year honoring the Vernal Equinox. People of various ideological and ethnic backgrounds celebrate Nowruz and set intentions for peace, joy, love, abundance, self-reflection, beauty, patience, and growth. A ritual table (Haftsin) set with items symbolizing these intentions will be set in the Museum of Boulder lobby, and an ongoing video presentation by local second generation Iranian Americans will tell visitors what is special about Nowruz. On March 20 from noon to 5 p.m., the Persian Cultural Circle will host a sensory experience throughout the Museum featuring a display of artisanal hand crafts, traditional music, and serving of Persian tea with cookies.
