Grab your passports and join in a storybook adventure to celebrate Read Across America Day. Immerse yourselves in the rich history of railroads by exploring classic train stories during a train ride and inside historic rail cars throughout the museum’s grounds. Meet Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat and the Museum’s own mascot, Spike. Visit the upper gallery where you can create your own storybook to bring home. Featured books include: Dr. Seuss’s Green Eggs and Ham, stories from Thomas the Tank Engine’s collection, Donald Crews’ Freight Train, Marian Potter’s The Little Red Caboose, even excerpts from the Harry Potter series featuring the Hogwarts Express.
