8 Spring Break Camps and Classes

Looking for ways to entertain the kids while they’re off from school? We gathered this list of camps and classes to help you plan for spring break.

The kids are off from school and that means you need a way to occupy their time for the week. Need some options for spring break fun, sans parents? Try snagging a spot in these Denver metro area camps.

Special Needs Spring Break Camp

March 15, 17; 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Participants will learn the skills, rules, good sportsmanship, and teamwork necessary to play a variety of sports. Age 8 and up. $69, $60 HRCA member. Southridge Recereation Center, Highlands Ranch.

Spring Break Art Camp

March 15 to 18, 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.

Stop by the Curtis Center for the Arts to create fun and unique hands-on art projects. This year the theme is fantasy; students will create works of art featuring our favorite fantasy creatures that will include dragons, fairies, and unicorns.Ages 6-12. $25. Bluff Lake Spring Break Mini-Camps

March 18, 31, April 1; noon to 3 p.m.

Looking for activities for your child during their Spring Break? Sign them up for nature themed activities, games, crafts, and more with Bluff Lake’s environmental educators. Ages 5-12. Register online. $50-$100, scholarships available. Bluff Lake Nature Center, Denver.

Aerial Day Off Camps

March 21 to 24, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Campers will play games, spend time outside, work together to create, learn creative movement skills, and build strength and technique on aerial fabric. Ages 8-17, all levels welcome. Register online. $85 per day, sibling discount available. Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance, Boulder.

Dinosaur Ridge Spring Break Camp

March 21 to 25, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Get digging to find fossils, examine rocks and minerals, and become a nature explorer. Choose one or multiple themed days that include supplies, field trips, and guest speakers. Ages 6-11. Register online. $82 per day. Dinosaur Ridge, Morrison.

Spring Break Day Camps

March 22 to 25, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kids can explore the wildness of the animal world and learn how innate behaviors help creatures survive and thrive. Have your camper dress comfortably with closed toe shoes and pack a sack lunch and snacks. Grades 1-6. Hands-on History: Build! Envisioning a Future Denver

March 28 to April 1, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hands-on History takes campers on an exploration of modern versus historic construction and city planning through different activities, crafts, and games. They will construct their own cities, design using traditional ecological knowledge, and tour museum exhibits. Ages 6-12. Register online. $250, tuition assistance available. History Colorado Center, Denver.

School Break Toy Shop 2.0

March 28 to April 4, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Makers will be challenged to build matchbox cars, toy boats, action figures, and fidgets, depending on the day(s) they attend. The day includes safety talks before and during tool usage, plus outdoor play time. Ages 5-11. $95 per day, sibling discounts available. The Craftsman & Apprentice, Denver.
