More than 13 million children in the United States face food insecurity. They live in homes where they don’t regularly have enough food to eat and are unsure where or when they will have their next meal. From September 1-30, 2018 Qdoba Mexican Eats is partnering with No Kid Hungry, a national organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger, to help feed kids and provide them with the food and nutrition they need to grow up strong.
“We started working with the No Kid Hungry campaign in 2017 and we couldn’t be more proud to throw in our hat to help with this cause,” says Jill Adams, vice president of marketing at Qdoba. “We set an ambitious goal and are determined to raise $200,000, which would help provide two million meals to children.”
Denver area families can help Qdoba reach their goal by making a donation at any Qdoba location throughout the month of September. In exchange for a donation of at least $2, diners receive a coupon for a free order of chips and queso with the purchase of an entree on a later visit.
On September 5, Qdoba will kick off the campaign with an Orange Carpet event at their Alameda and Union location in Lakewood. From 5 to 7 p.m., diners enjoy live music, a coloring station, and free hand-smashed quacamole, while kids 12 and under eat free from the kids menu. In addition to donations, 20 percent of sales during the event will go to No Kid Hungry.
“We’re so thankful to have the support of Qdoba’s team members and guests,” says Diana Hovey, senior vice president at Share Our Strength, the organization behind No Kid Hungry. “With just the simple act of dining out, we can ensure kids have the food they need to succeed.”
