Whether you’re looking for a creative way to say “I love you” or want to treat the kids to a special Valentine’s Day snack, there’s no shortage of Valentine-inspired treats this time of year. While there’s nothing wrong with picking up a few store-bought chocolates, cookies, or cupcakes (we’ve been there, too), we found a few other ways to spread the love. From savory to sweet, here are five places to grab a tasty, heartfelt treat for your loved ones this Valentine’s Day.
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, the popular doughnut shop is making two limited-edition doughnuts. Try the conversation heart doughnut (a heart-shaped doughnut filled with Bavarian cream and dipped in colored vanilla frosting topped with a sweet saying), or the Valentine’s sprinkle cake (a plain cake doughnut dipped in vanilla frosting and sprinkles). The tasty treats will be available from Friday, February 14 through Sunday, February 16. Two Denver locations: 1520 E. Colfax and 98 S. Broadway.
Einstein Bros. Bagels is baking up heart-shaped bagels in honor of Valentine’s Day. From February 10 to 14, bagel lovers can bring home a box of festive, fresh-baked bagels to share with the family. Heart bagels are available in three flavors (plain, chocolate chip, or cinnamon raisin) and start at $1.49 for a single bagel, $11.99 for a half-dozen box, and $15.79 for a dozen. 20 Denver metro area locations.
Little Man Ice Cream is offering a sweet and tasty way to say “I love you” this Valentine’s Day. Their Sweets for Your Sweetie love kit ($25) includes a pint of ice cream of your choice (choose from salted Oreo, 16th Street chocolate, strawberry, or vegan chocolate salted Oreo), a box of four Sweet Cooie’s hand-rolled truffles, a balloon, and a $5 gift card from Little Man Ice Cream. Pre-orders will be taken from February 1-12 and are available for in-store pick up (at either Sweet Cooie’s or the Factory) on February 13 and 14. Sweet Cooie’s: 3506 E. 12th Ave.; Little Man Ice Cream Factory, 4411 W. Colfax.
On Valentine’s Day, the family-owned pizzeria, Mici, will turn any of their 16-inch pizzas into a heart, at no extra charge. Heart-shaped pizzas will be available for dine-in, carryout, and delivery. Adults dining in at Mici on Valentine’s Day can also snag a bottle of wine for $14 with the purchase of a 16-inch pizza. To request a heart-shaped pizza, ask for it when calling to place an order or put it in the notes section for an online order. Six Denver metro area locations.
If you haven’t tried one of the decadent milkshakes from Punch Bowl Social Stapleton’s new Milkshake Lab, now is the time. For Valentine’s Day, the Strawberry Shortcake milkshake topped with cherry wax lips is more than enough to share with a loved one. 65 Broadway, Denver.
