A Con Just For Teen Readers

Colorado Teen Book Con, November 3, gives teens a chance to interact with and learn from some of their favorite YA authors.

Young adult literature tells the stories of deep and sometimes confusing emotions, of the challenges of coming of age and the crazy world of young love. It often takes readers to fantastical places that seem so different, but teach readers something powerful about the world they live in. Even as adults, many of us remember at least one YA novel that touched us in some way. Colorado Teen Book Con, November 3 at Littleton High School, gives teens a chance to interact with and learn from some of their favorite YA authors.

The free, teen-only event, founded by the Tattered Cover Book Store in 2016, features an all-day lineup of panels covering everything from romance and fantasy writing to a special session on the work and career of a literary agent. At the end of the day, teens get a chance to fan-out and meet authors at an hourlong book signing. Registration is required, and although adults are not allowed at the Con, they do have an opportunity to meet and mingle with the YA authors at a special 21+ happy hour on November 2 ($25) at the Tattered Cover on Colfax.
