Where to Go Dog Sledding

Enjoy a frosty evening swerving through snow-capped mountains pulled by man’s best friend. Watch the weather and check your calendars for available tour dates because the weather conditions will determine sledding times. After all, you cannot sled without snow! Before racing to the mountains, everyone should arrive dressed in the proper winter attire with a few basic essentials. Wear multiple layers (preferably water-resistant), pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a light water bottle. 

Good Times Adventure 
Switch out of your skis and snowboards for a dog sledding tour through Breckenridge. Must be at least 15 years old to participate unaccompanied, and children ages five and above are welcome to join. Have a day of chilly fun gliding across the snow in Salida. Families looking for new friends can visit the lodge to ask a guide about adopting a retired sled dog. Small sleds can pull groups of three for $275-375. Big sleds can accommodate up to parties of 4 for a rate of $400-525 per sled. Salida.

Guests can opt for a short tour through Crested Butte, where you can relax and enjoy the views while being led by your guide, or you can learn how to run your own team by getting instruction from the pros. Durango Dog Ranch
Every reservation can book up to three sleds to be pulled by nature’s greatest athletes across trails personally selected by your guide. Each reservation includes a mushing lesson to learn about the proper equipment, safety, and dog commands before sledding. It is $395 per sled, which can accommodate 2-3 people. Wintermoon Dog Sled Adventures
Mush and weave through the Uncompahgre National Forest or the San Juan Mountains. Kids of all ages and abilities are welcome for half-day tours.
